June 30, 2008
When you are looking for your next car whether you are buying a new or used vehicle the one thing that you should be considering is, buying one of the best gas mileage cars available. This doesn’t mean that we all have to drive around in Micro cars either as there are some good small to mid-size cars with good gas mileage.
The difference between choosing a fuel efficient car over one that is a gas guzzler can be substantial over the life of the vehicle. Fuel efficiency varies greatly from one car to the next, and with the continuing rise of gas prices buying a more economical car makes even more sense than ever before, after all it’s your cash that you are putting into the gas tank.
Did you know that around 15% of people looking to buy a new car will reject a model due to poor gas mileage alone? And nearly 40% of people who eliminate a full size SUV due to poor fuel efficiency will ultimately buy a mid-size SUV instead, while nearly 20% will buy another model altogether.
With more and more people buying and driving cars than ever before the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has put together a useful guide to help prospective buyers to choose the best gas mileage cars available on the market, and these guides should be shown on the cars for sale on the garage forecourt. The EPA gas mileage guide will tell you the expected fuel consumption for both city as well as highway driving.
Listed below are 5 of the most popular of the best gas mileage cars available at the moment.
Number 5 of the top small to mid-size best gas mileage cars is the Toyota Scion XA.
This comes with a 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder engine, with a 4 speed automatic transmission. Driving in the city you can expect to get around 32 MPG and this goes up to nearly 40MPG for the highway.
Number 4 Is the Toyota Echo with its 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed manual transmission the MPG for the city is 35 while on the highway this goes up to 43MPG.
Number 3 The Honda Civic even with its slightly larger 1.7 liter engine and 5 speed manual transmission will still give you 36MPG in the city and 44MPG when out on the highway. The Honda Civic is also available in a Hybrid version with even greater fuel economy.
Number 2 The Toyota Prius comes with a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and a variable automatic transmission. This car will give you a whopping 60MPG around the city but oddly is not quite so good on the highway giving 51MPG.
The Number 1 best gas mileage car is as you would imagine a smaller car. With its 1 liter 3 cylinder engine and a 5 speed manual transmission the Honda Insight does however give you great fuel economy. You can expect to get60MPG in the city and a fantastic 66MPG for highway driving.

7 Tips and Steps to Learn How to Care For a New Tattoo
June 30, 2008
One of the first things you should know when getting a tattoo is how to take care of a new tattoo. Lucky for me I had a really good tattoo artist doing my tattoos if not I probably would have messed things up quite a bit and that would have been an unpleasant experience.
On one of my first pieces I used way too much ointment and drew a lot of the ink out of the new tattoo. I had to go in for some touch up work and go through the pain, again.
Any reliable tattoo shop and their artists will give you instructions on tattoo after care. Be sure you follow them properly. You really would not want to go through all that pain and then have something go wrong. Most artists will do touch up work for you, but it is certainly unnecessary pain.
Here are some tips and steps for how to care for a new tattoo
Keep the bandage over the new tattoo for several hours. After that remove the bandage covering the tattoo and do not re-bandage it. This allows the air to dry it and start the healing process.
Wash the new tattoo gently with an antibacterial soap. Do not scrub or use too much pressure. Make sure to rinse the area of any blood, bodily fluids, and soap. Do this every couple hours until the oozing stops.
After washing your new tattoo, apply a healing ointment to the area. Vitamin D ointment is highly recommended. Just don’t put too much. You’ll want to do this several times a day.
In addition to the ointment, or after several days of using just the ointment, begin moisturizing the tattooed area several times a day. Make sure to use an unscented and alcohol free moisturizer. This will help with the itching as the tattoo heals.
Avoid long baths, hot tubs, pools or any other prolonged exposure to water. Showers are fine, but again do not scrub the area vigorously or keep it soaking in water. If the tattoo is on your hand or wrist, avoid washing dishes for a prolonged period (lucky you!)
Avoid the sun. The sun can always do damage to your new tattoo, but especially so when your new tattoo is still healing. You do not want to dry out the healing tattoo area and definitely don’t want to get a sunburn. Always make sure to use a generous amount of sun block on your tattoo or your tattoo will fade.
Never pick or scratch the tattooed area, even (and especially) if it scabs up or some skin peels away. Allow the tattoo to fully heal on its own.
In general, use common sense when taking care of your new tattoo. Treat your tattoo like you would most other open wounds on your body. Wash it, moisturize it, keep it clean and avoid exposure to water and sunlight. Follow the above tips and you and your tattoo will end up well preserved, perfectly healed and you will be perfectly healthy.

Reframing Technique
June 30, 2008
Reframing is a technique of changing one’s perspective or changing a meaning of something. It’s a behavioral process of helping people become more successful life and to be able to express oneself more effectively.
This technique of personal development was created by studying and modeling the behavioral patterns of successful people in all walks of life. NLP has observed and studied these people and has made a wonderful discovery that can help you change your life for the better.
NLP is a collection of information – more like a “manual” for the brain. It’s a set of insights and skills that can help improve the mental and behavioral patterns of the people to achieve happiness and success in life.
Reframing technique is looking at things differently and changing your normal tendencies and reactions to any situations. Imagine seeing an original painting of Monaliza by Leonardo da Vinci in a cheap frame, your normal reaction would be, “this painting is not an original”. But again, when you see the same painting framed expensively you would say “this is an original”. The painting is the same, there were no two paintings that were framed, the only difference is the frames used at different circumstances and you reacted differently in both situations.
That is what reframing technique is all about – it changes your perspective of the same things. It changes your ideas, your belief and your normal tendencies in life. Reframing is a way of challenging yourself to see the positive in everything that is happening around you, however bad they can be. It gives you hope that even a situation feels very hurtful; there are lessons to be learned along the way, to help you become a better person.
Reframing changes the content and or context of a situation. How you think defines and determines how you react in any given circumstances. You can choose to be a victim or choose to learn from it and move on. As the saying goes, “when the going gets tough, the tough gets going”, that is a frame of mind. If you don’t have that kind of fighting spirit – then you can learn to adopt one.
For example: You feel that you are very demanding and overly bossy and people avoid you because of this personality trait. Instead of focusing on the negative side of your “very strong personality” why not try to look for something good about it. Like “women like their men strong, it gives them a feeling a protectiveness” and “I have reach my greatest potential because I demanded the best from myself.” You changed the negative content by reframing.
Instead of focusing on the negative aspect of your personality, look on the brighter side and cultivate what is good. Your strong personality can be your greatest asset if you know how to reframe your mind. Choose to use your strong personality by helping people feel protected or help someone step the ladder of success by teaching him/her your secret, and that is demanding only the best from yourself.
Every negative aspect of life can be reframed to help us find the positive side. Reframing gives people the ability to exercise their freedom to challenge themselves to always look for the good and the beautiful in everything they see. Reframing your mind will surely works wonder and makes you happier.

4 Cool Ways to Save on Gasoline
June 29, 2008
When you pull up to that pump and realize that you just don’t want to drive anymore, it can be really hard to go to work the next day and know that maybe half of your paycheck is going to go to the stupid gas companies. While the gas companies are happy, the average consumer is struggling day by day just to drive back and forth to work. Until we get some alternative fuel source that the majority of America uses, we are going to be stuck with gasoline. Instead of pulling up to the gas pump and paying full price next time, you may want to consider some alternatives.
Carpooling – Do you know of anyone at your place of work that lives nearby? If you do, maybe you can work out an arrangement where you can drive each other in every other day or week and cut back on half of the gas. Instead of taking two cars, you know can take one and save. If you don’t know of anyone at your work, you can always try the state funded carpool assistance programs. These programs will find people that are in need of a partner like you and the state will help assist you.
Public Transportation – No matter what city you live in, there probably is some type of public transportation. This can include the bus system, the subway, a train, and so many other alternatives. See where these routes usually head toward and see if you can benefit from them. Some people find themselves driving a few miles to a parking lot for a bus stop and it cuts back on nearly 70% of their gas, it really can save!
Walk or Bike – Do you live nearby grocery stores or any other type of store you frequent? If so, instead of driving that little distance, you can instead pull out the old bicycle or simply walk. Even though that store may be a mile away, if you walk there forty times, that’s already eighty miles. Do you see how quickly that can add up? Let’s not forget you’re also going to be getting exercise as well. It’s a win-win situation!
Gas Credit Cards – If you don’t want to do the above at all, you can always drive the way you are and simply apply for a gas card. A gas card is nice because some cards allow you to save up to almost ten percent a gallon. As long as you pay your bill off in full each month, you’ll be able to reap the rewards one hundred percent. There are a lot of cards out there, make sure you do your research and find out which card will best suit your needs.
There are so many ways you can save on gas. From changing your driving habits to getting a different car, the list is endless. Just think of how you save with everything else in life. Now try and apply these same techniques to gas, it will work the same way.

How to Find Affordable Motorcycle Insurance
June 29, 2008
When people need motorcycle insurance their natural instinct is to go for the most affordable motorcycle insurance that they can find. Fact is you need to look for all the options, it needs to be affordable, but also need to cover all you need. There is nothing more disturbing when you are in an accident that the cheap motorcycle insurance you took does not cover all expenses. It is important that you understand your options so you can make the right choice and there is no need to suffer from those overpriced premiums.
Getting the right quotes is the first step to find affordable motorcycle insurance, it means you need to ask some different motorcycle insurance companies for the rates that they are able to offer you and what they cover.
Before these companies can come up with a quote for you they need to know a few things before they can do so, they need at a minimum your driving record, age, experience and gender. A driving ticket you received last year was meaningless at the time but it can have an serious effect on your driving record and there is noting you can do about it, if you have not such a good driving record they will offer you a higher premium and this makes it more difficult to find a real affordable motorcycle insurance.
Things to keep in mind
If paying high premiums is really a problem for you, we have a few tips to keep the premium to an absolute minimum. The first tip is that not just your own records count but also the kind of bike you buy. In general the more sporty and expensive your bike is the more expensive the premium for the insurance will be. So, if you buy a new bike keep the insurance cost in consideration. Sometimes its better to buy a different motorcycle if you want to keep the reoccurring costs to a minimum.
The next tip is for those of you who own more than one vehicle, if you own more motorcycles, cars or RVs it is smart to insure all the vehicles with one and the same insurer. If you insure more than one vehicle with the same company they will almost always offer you a discount and this is something you should really take advantage of if you own more than one vehicle.
Our third and last tip is to profit from the internet quotes, the best you can do these days is to go online and go to one of the more popular free car and motorcycle insurance quote websites, here you can immediately compare the rates of more than one company at once. The only thing you need to do is to compare the offers do a online check about the company of your choice and make a final decision. And with the motorcycle season just beginning this is the right time to start looking for the most affordable motorcycle insurance you can find. If you decide to go with a less known, familiar insurance company, you need to make sure that you know exactly what your insurance covers and read the fine print before you sign anything.

Ebay Photography Basics
June 29, 2008
In any decent auction on Ebay, you will find a photograph of the item. Now as a buyer, upon seeing the item you will sub-consciously start making judgments. “This guys house is a mess, can the item really be in good condition?” So as a seller, you need to capitalize on that and start making sure that your photographs look professional.
I’m going to teach you some basics. It’s not all to do with techy stuff - a lot of it is common sense. If you’re trying to sell something and claim it’s in good condition, don’t take a photo of it lying in the toilet. Common Sense. Firstly, the camera. You don’t have to get a top quality camera, A second-hand 1 or 2 mega pixel camera will do just fine.
Firstly, you need to be aware of the point of having a photo .
- Buyers want to see what they’re buying
- Prove it’s in good condition.
- And, to sell the item.
So, the basics. Firstly, concentrate on the item. Not your pet, not your table, or your carpet, or your neighbour, the item. How many auctions have you seen with a scruffy carpet underneath and a pair of boxers to the side of the item? And when you see those, do you instantly say : “Hey wow, that PSP is in great condition!”? No-one wants to know about your dog if you’re selling your TV, sorry. So put a piece of paper under the item, and zoom in. Get closer. It’s a good idea to try and crop the item in some sort of program on your computer - Photo Editing Software. Now your buyer can see what you’re selling in full, with information and condition visible.
If it’s a large item, photograph it against a clean wall, or wood of some sort. Just something that won’t attract attention and looks clean. Experiment a little. While you’ve got the camera out, try some other shots - for more information for the buyer, and to prove it’s got all round good condition. Try take the photographs during the day - as even using flash in the night can not work. Reflections and such will make you move around in order to get a clean shot - so just do it in the daylight, believe me. Check each picture as you take them. Re-take any blurry or out of focus pictures so the buyer can see all the information. Keep asking yourself, would I be happy with this? That’s the genius of a digital Camera. Don’t waste that awesome preview feature.
If the item is used, you can take it out the box and once again, show it’s good condition. If you’re selling it ‘brand new and sealed’ then that’s not a good idea, is it. Another shot will only take a few seconds, but could earn you a bit of cash. You can put something in with the item - like a key - so that people know the scale of the item. It can be hard to tell from photos.
And after that, it’s really all just common sense. You’ve taken some shots, crop ‘em on your computer and post the best ones up!

If you are an owner of indoor bronze pieces, there is a need to take a soft cloth for dust removal. Although, dust may do no initial harm in light amounts, when it builds up in a thicker residue, there may be eventual damage done to the exterior. No matter if there is built-up residue and grime from indoor storage or the outdoor showcasing, there are proper methods to cleaning your bronze sculptures. Basic dirt and grime are easily removed with a soft cotton clothe, room temperature water and a very mild chemical-free soap.
If you are cleaning for the first time, it is best to make sure and check for any kind of ill-fated reaction to the soap that you are going to clean with. This can be done with a small cotton pad or swab with a cotton end, and the soapy mixture. It is best to do the checking in an area that is not obvious just in case there is any damage caused to the patina surface due to a reaction to the soap. Due to any chemical additives that may be put into your water, it is best to use distilled water instead of tap water. Make sure to let the test area fully dry, so to not have any chemical reaction.
When you are sure of the soap not damaging the naturally surface worn patina, you may go ahead and continue a completely cleaning with the cotton pads or clothe and soapy distilled water. It is best to use cotton pads that can be tossed, or make sure that the cleaning clothe will rinse completely of the dirt being washed. This is important so to be able to not have any dirt particles within the cloth or pads being put back in to any small crevasses of your Bronze sculpture. It is important to completely dry after rinsing, and then apply a good bronze wax for protection.
